INSTALLATION GUIDE

In this detailed installation video, our team will guide you step-by-step on how to upgrade from your factory plastic OEM bumper to our high-strength steel bumper system. You can also find a written version of the installation process below.

**ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations** regarding vehicle modifications. Some jurisdictions
**prohibit the removal, modification, or disabling** of vehicle safety features or emissions controls. **Violation of such laws may result in fines or penalties.**

Unplugged Performance assumes **no responsibility** for a customer’s use of its products and has **no obligation** to inform customers of applicable road usage laws. Vehicle modifications may **invalidate warranties** provided by the original vehicle manufacturer.

VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS & AUTONOMOUS FEATURES

The Tesla Cybertruck utilizes advanced driver assistance and autonomous features that depend on **sensors, cameras, and software systems.** **Modifying the vehicle—including installing aftermarket parts or accessories—may interfere with these systems** and result in unintended behaviors, safety risks, or performance inconsistencies. **Unplugged Performance is not responsible for any adverse effects on vehicle performance, safety, or software functionality** resulting from aftermarket modifications.

SOFTWARE UPDATES & COMPATIBILITY

Tesla frequently updates its vehicle software, which may impact the compatibility and performance of aftermarket accessories. **Unplugged Performance does not guarantee compatibility with future software updates** and is not liable for any unintended effects, including but not limited to:

• Malfunctions or limitations of autonomous driving features.
• Performance inconsistencies or warning messages.
• Invalidation of Tesla’s manufacturer warranty.

PRODUCT WARRANTY

All merchandise sold by Unplugged Performance is covered by a **two-year unlimited mileage warranty** against defect or failure under **normal use** when installed by an **authorized installer.** If a product is shown to be defective within two years of **proper installation**, it will be replaced at no charge.

• **Warranty covers parts only.** Labor performed by third parties is **not covered.**
• Warranty **does not cover** damage from **impact, vandalism, improper installation, removal, modification, non-compliance with instructions, flood, or other abnormal use.**
• **No claims** may include labor, shipping, currency losses, fees, or inconvenience.
• Orders placed with third parties are governed by the warranty policies of the seller.
• **Replica products** carry no warranty or support. Customers should **only purchase from authorized dealers.**

LOAD & WEIGHT CONSIDERATIONS

• Customers must ensure that **modifications and accessories do not exceed Cybertruck’s rated towing capacity, hitch weight limits, or other factory load constraints.**
• Improper use of aftermarket accessories may **compromise vehicle stability and safety.**
• Customers are responsible for proper **load distribution and securing all mounted equipment.**

FORCE MAJEURE

Unplugged Performance shall **not be liable** for failure to fulfill obligations under these Terms and Conditions due to
**circumstances beyond its reasonable control,** including but not limited to:

• Business closure, hacking, fire, floods, earthquakes, embargoes, war, terrorism, riots, labor disputes, pandemics, or acts of God.
• In such events, Unplugged Performance will make every effort to follow its policies in **good faith** but may not be able to in all cases.

JACKING & LIFTING

• Use **only the designated body lift points** when lifting the Cybertruck.
• **Do not lift from under the battery or side rails**—this can cause **damage not covered by warranty.**
• Ensure the **area is clear, doors and tailgate are closed,** and the **equipment used is rated for the weight of Cybertruck.**
• Any **non-Tesla repair facility** must follow the **official Tesla lifting instructions.**

TOWING & SUSPENSION

• Before towing, **refer to the Tesla Cybertruck Owner’s Manual** and adhere to all **towing guidelines.**
• When adjusting **suspension settings manually,** follow Tesla’s guidelines to ensure safe operation.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK & RELEASE OF LIABILITY

By purchasing and installing products from Unplugged Performance, you:

• **Acknowledge that modifications are done at your own risk.**
• **Agree that Unplugged Performance is not responsible for any damages, accidents, injuries, or legal infractions** resulting from the use or misuse of its products.
• **Assume full responsibility for compliance** with local, state, and federal regulations regarding vehicle modifications.

NO WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE ON VEHICLE PERFORMANCE

Unplugged Performance products are provided **”as is”** without any express or implied warranties regarding their compatibility with Tesla’s **autonomous driving systems, safety features, or long-term software support.**

INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to **indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Unplugged Performance** from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising from the installation or use of aftermarket accessories.

By installing or using this product, you understand and agree with the following: If you do not agree, do not proceed with the installation and return this product within 30 days for a full refund of the purchase price from the company from which you have purchased it.

• I understand and agree that this product is intended to be installed for use on private roads and in jurisdictions where the use of this product is deemed legal by the local authorities. Furthermore, I understand and agree Unplugged Performance does not have any knowledge or control of regulations in my local jurisdiction, and it is up to me to determine if the product is acceptable for use with my vehicle.
• I understand that Unplugged Performance has done testing of this product on road and on closed racetracks but does not have the ability to test the vehicle for localized standards and regulations.
• I understand and agree that if the vehicle manufacturer determines that any Unplugged Performance products have contributed to a problem with the vehicle it may affect the vehicle’s warranty. Furthermore, I understand and agree that Unplugged Performance has no duty nor ability to be involved in internal manufacturer decisions.
• I understand and agree that if this product is given to an installer for installation on my vehicle, I have read and agreed with all the previous, even if I am not personally installing these parts on my vehicle. Furthermore, I understand and agree that this product should be installed by a trained professional that is familiar with both the vehicle as well as this product. Furthermore, I understand and agree that I and/or my chosen installer will follow the installation instructions carefully and dutifully test the vehicle post-installation in a safe and controlled environment to ensure proper operation.
• I understand and agree that by installing this product Unplugged Performance and all associated persons and entities as well as the vehicle manufacturer and all associated entities must be held harmless in the event of any suit, damages, or other legal action. Furthermore, I hereby release Unplugged Performance and any associated entities from any and all liability for any potential claim or claims.

NOTE: Most factory hardware will not be re-used unless specified. However, be sure to keep all factory hardware until the final install is complete.

Place the truck in the highest setting and place the truck into jack mode. This is a safety measure to make sure that the ride height does not change while servicing the vehicle, while also providing additional clearance to some necessary access points.

Remove rear passenger fender, and rear driver fender portion by swiftly pulling away from the vehicle until all push clips have been disengaged. Note that the driver side rear fender is a multi piece flare separated by the charging port access door. Only the rear portion near the rear bumper cover needs to be removed as shown below.

Using a 10mm socket, remove all 9 bolts retaining the bottom of the bumper to the vehicle. 3 bolts are located underneath the rear splash guard, and 3 more bolts are located on each side of the factory bumper as shown below.

Using a 10mm socket, loosen both bolts securing the sides of the rear splash guard to the underbody of the vehicle. Removal of these bolts is not necessary, however, loosening them allows for additional clearance which is useful when removing the factory rear bumper cover from the vehicle in later steps.

Using a 10mm socket, remove 1 bolt on the back side of each fender as shown below.
(Keep this hardware labeled as this will be used to secure the UP INVINCIBLE rear bumper)

Using a 10mm socket, remove the 2 bolts located behind the rear license plate.

Using a pry tool, remove the 5 push clips that secure the rear side of each fender liner to the factory rear bumper cover.

Next, move to the rear of the bumper. Using a flat head screw driver, rotate the 3 retainer clips by 90 degrees. Then pull downward to remove the tow cover.

Next, pull the factory bumper cover away from the vehicle in a swift motion to disconnect the clips that secure the bumper cover to the vehicle. Note that the rear fascia harness electrical connector must be disconnected before the factory bumper can be pulled away from th vehicle. Once all push clips have been disengaged and the rear fascia harness electrical connector is no longer connected to the vehicle, pull the factory bumper cover away from the vehicle.

Located below the factory rear bumper cover location, remove the following foam inserts. First, using a pry tool, remove the 3 push clips retaining the foam insert covering the licence plate frame assembly.

NOTE: These push clips are single use and may break upon removal but will not be reused.

Next, using a 13mm socket, remove the 5 bolts that secure the license plate frame assembly to the vehicle. Once all 5 bolts have been removed, pull the license plate frame assembly away from the vehicle.

Next, using a pry tool, remove all 10 push clips (5 on each piece) securing the foam covers below the rear quarter panels to the rear crash structures. Once all push clips have been removed, pull these foam covers away from the vehicle. You may need to carefully rotate these pieces to allow proper clearance during the removal process due to a tight working area.

Located on the back side of the vehicle, use a 10mm socket to remove 4 nuts that secure the factory rear bumper cover brackets to the vehicle.

Located below each of the vehicle’s rear quarter panels, use a 10mm socket to remove 2 bolts on each side that secure the factory rear bumper cover brackets to the vehicle.

Next, using a pry tool, disengage the outer clips securing the factory corner rear bumper cover brackets to the vehicle. There is one bracket on each rear corner that must be loosened in order to remove the center factory rear bumper cover bracket that is located just below the rear tailgate. Once the factory corner bracket retainer clips are disengaged, pull the factory center rear bumper cover bracket away from the vehicle. The corner brackets will be removed at a later step.

Now, using a 13mm socket, remove 3 bolts securing each rear diffuser brackets. Perform this step on both rear diffuser brackets, located on either side of the hitch assembly as shown below. Carefully remove the rear diffuser brackets from the vehicle as the wiring harness is still attached to the vehicle.

Using a pry tool, disconnect the trailer connector socket electrical connector from the cable assembly on the passenger side of the vehicle by pressing down on the following tab and pulling the cable assembly from the towing connection socket.

Then remove the trailer connector socket from the factory trailer hitch by using a pry tool and pressing in on the metal tabs located at the top and bottom of the socket.

Now that the trailer connector socket has been unmounted from the factory trailer hitch assembly, the diffuser bracket can be unmarried from the wiring harness and removed from the vehicle. Using a pry tool, disconnect the push clips that secure the wiring harnesses it to the diffuser brackets by removing the 5 push clips on each diffuser bracket as shown below. There are 10 push clips to disconnect, 5 on each rear diffuser bracket.

Now that all push clips have been disconnected from the diffuser bracket, proceed to disconnect the vehicle bluetooth sensor from the driver-side diffuser bracket. Using a 10mm socket, remove the 2 nuts securing the bluetooth sensor to the driver-side diffuser bracket. Remove both driver-side and passenger-side diffuser brackets from the vehicle.

Next, place a table jack underneath the center of the factory trailer hitch assembly. Raise the table jack up until it meets the bottom of the hitch assembly. Be sure that the table jack is centered underneath the factory hitch. Once the factory hitch is disconnected from the vehicle, the table jack will be responsible for supporting the full weight of the factory trailer hitch.

Once the factory trailer hitch is properly supported by the table jack, disconnect the factory trailer hitch from the vehicle. Using an 15mm socket, remove the 4 bolts (2 on each side) securing the trailer hitch to the factory crash structures (Tesla often refers to these components as “cast bumpers”).

Using an 18mm socket, remove the 6 bolts that secure the factory hitch to the vehicle. These 6 bolts are located on the underside of the factory hitch, with 3 bolts on either side. Once all 6 bolts have been removed, the factory trailer hitch is no longer connected to the vehicle. You may remove the factory hitch assembly from the vehicle by lowering the jack, and pulling it away from the vehicle.
CAUTION: If the hitch is not properly supported by a jack it may fall from the vehicle.

Now that the factory trailer hitch assembly has been removed from the vehicle, proceed to remove the factory crash structures. Using an 18mm socket, remove the 4 bolts (2 per crash structure) located on top of each crash structure that secure the back of each structure to the vehicle. Once both bolts are removed, pull the crash structure away from the vehicle. Ensure that both crash structures are removed from the vehicle.

Now with the crash structures removed, you can pull away each rear outer bumper cover mounting bracket by sliding them down and away from the rear of the vehicle.

Now that the factory bumper cover assembly has been removed from the vehicle, proceed to transfer all necessary accessories from the factory bumper cover to the UP INVINCIBLE REAR BUMPER. Using a pry tool, disconnect every clip retaining the wire assembly to the factory bumper cover.

Using a T20, remove the 3 bolts that secure each reverse light assembly.

Using a T20, remove the 3 screws that secure the speaker to the factory bumper cover.

Using a T20, remove the 2 bolts that secure the Bluetooth sensor to the factory bumper cover.

Using a pry tool, disconnect each power supply from the reverse lights, powered reflectors, speaker, and Bluetooth sensor. And then remove the powered reflectors from the bumper cover by pushing in the retainer tabs.

Using a 4mm Allen key, secure the Bluetooth sensor to the provided back plate using 2 bolts and washers. Torque the screws to 5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft).

Using a 4mm Allen key, install 4 bolts and washers secure the Bluetooth sensor plate to the body of the UP rear bumper. Torque the screws to 5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft).

Pre-drill the mounting surface screw holes with a 11/64″ drill bit. Using a T20, resecure the 3 factory screws on each reverse light to the UP Invincible rear bumper. Torque the 6x T20 screws to 5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft).

Install the corner reflectors by pressing them into place on the UP invincible rear bumper.

Once all accessories have been installed on the UP invincible rear bumper, proceed to reinstall the rear wiring harnesses to both reverse light assemblies and both powered reflector assemblies.

NOTE: Wait to plug in the Bluetooth sensor at this point.

Using the provided adhesive mounts, secure all points of the wiring harness that have slack with provided zip ties and trim any excess lead after the wiring harness has been secured.

Next, secure the UP INVINCIBLE HITCH to the UP INVINCIBLE REAR BUMPER using the provided 19mm bolts (2 lengths), split washers, and locking nuts. You will use 2 long bolts and 2 short bolts on either side, as well as a split washer on each bolt head. Hand tighten the UP INVINCIBLE HITCH to the UP INVINCIBLE REAR BUMPER.

After hand tightened, connect the wiring harness to the bluetooth sensor.

Using a table jack, lift the UP INVINCIBLE REAR BUMPER into place. Be sure all wiring harnesses do not get pinched. Slide the rear bumper over the factory side rails under each rear quarter panel to allow it to rest on the side rails of the vehicle.

NOTE: Be sure to leave the speaker power supply accessible as this will be reconnected in a later step.

Using a 10mm socket, install a factory bolt on each side of the rear bumper. Do not tighten fully at this moment.

Check that the holes underneath the bumper are properly aligned with the vehicle slots.

Using an 18mm socket, reinstall 3 factory bolts on either side of the hitch assembly (6 total). Torque the bolts to 178 Nm (131.3 lbs-ft).

Using a jack, lift the rear bumper to align the trailer hitch with the bumper.

Using a 10mm socket, fully tighten down the factory bolts on either side of the bumper. Torque to 8 Nm (6 lbs-ft).

Using a 19mm socket and swivel wrench, torque the 4 nuts and bolts securing the hitch beam to the bumper on each side. Take your time with this step as it may be difficult to reach. Torque the upper shorter bolts to 60 Nm (45 lbs-ft) and the lower longer bolts to 47 Nm (35 lbs-ft).

Next, reconnect the rear bumper harness to the truck harness and install the trailer hook up assembly by pressing it into the UP Invincible rear bumper and reconnect the hook up wiring assembly to the hook up connector point.

Using provided zip ties, secure the excess wiring harness underneath to the underside of the truck on both sides.

Using a pry tool, open up the tabs on the OEM mid panel to ensure that the UP rear panel mounts properly.

Using a 4mm Allen key and an 8mm socket, install 3 extended bolts, spacers, washers, and nuts to secure the factory rear speaker to the underpanel of the UP INVINCIBLE REAR BUMPER. The spacers are labeled “1” and “2”. Screw onto the places shown. Secure the speaker to the undertray using the 8mm socket.

Using a jack, raise the UP INVINCIBLE REAR BUMPER under panel to the vehicle. Make sure to slide the under panel into the tabs as shown.

Before fully lifting the undertray, make sure to plug in the speaker into the wiring harness, and tuck the excess cable above the under panel.

Using a 5mm Allen key, install 17 bolts to secure the under panel to the bottom of the UP INVINCIBLE REAR BUMPER. Be sure that all bolts line up and thread accordingly before applying final torque.

Once all bolts have been inserted, remove the table jack, and apply final torque. Torque all 17 bolts to 8 Nm (6 lbs-ft).

Using a 10mm socket, install 3 factory bolts to secure the UP Invincible rear bumper under panel to the factory mid panel. Torque 3 bolts to 8 Nm (6 lbs-ft).

Using a 5mm Allen key, install 5 provided bolts and washers to each side of the bumper to secure the fender liner to the UP INVINCIBLE REAR BUMPER.
NOTE: Make sure to use hand tools as power tools may strip the bumper threads.

Reinstall each fender flare. Be sure that all push clips line up with the appropriate mounting point.

Use the provided hole plugs to cover the accessory mounting holes.

Test rear lights to ensure proper function.

Install is now complete!
