Next, proceed to assemble your MOLLE swing arm. First, fasten 2 provided M6 bump stops and 2 10MM M6x1.25 nuts on each upper corner of the MOLLE swing arm as shown below.
Next, proceed to install the latch onto the swing arm. Using a 10mm socket, 10mm end wrench, and a torque wrench, fasten 4 10MM M6x1.25 nuts to secure the latch to the MOLLE swing arm as shown below. Note that 2 nuts require an end wrench to access while the other 2 can be fastened with a traditional deep socket. Torque to 10 ft/lbs.
Once the latch is installed, proceed to install the MOLLE swing arm onto the MOLLE swing arm mounting bracket. Lift the MOLLE swing arm into the bracket as shown below.
With the swing arm in position, insert the following hardware to fasten the MOLLE swing arm to the bracket. Start by inserting the threaded aluminium sleeve on the bottom, and the non-threaded aluminum insert into the top. Using a 10mm allen key, fasten the provided M12 bolt through the upper aluminium sleeve, to the lower threaded aluminium sleeve. The torque on this bolt directly reflects how much force is required to move the swing arm through the intended range of motion.
Once the swing arm pivot friction has been set, using a 19mm socket and a 10mm allen key to counterhold, fasten a supplied 19mm lock nut underneath the threaded aluminium sleeves to retain your pivot friction setting.
Once the swing arm has been installed, proceed to install the latch stroker. Using a 5mm allen key, loosely fasten 4 bolts to secure the latch striker to the vehicle. Note that the striker bracket is slotted to allow for fine tune adjustments and optimal placement.
Before applying final torque, test the swing arm latch engagement with the striker, and adjust the striker position as needed.
Finally, using a 5mm allen socket and torque wrench, torque all 4 striker bolts to 17ft/lbs.
Note: If you plan to use FSD, you may experience some warnings when the swing arm and or 5th wheel carrier is added to the UP INVINCIBLE rear bumper. If this occurs, you can place the vehicle in service mode, and recalibrate the cameras. This has proven to reduce proximity errors when using FSD successfully with swing arms and or 5th wheel carriers added to the UP INVINCIBLE rear bumper.
