While the Tesla Model 3 (especially the Performance variant) is a serious track weapon in skilled hands, its hefty weight strains stock brakes. Factory pads prioritize quiet operation and low dust, paired with DOT 3 fluid. This setup handles street driving well, aided by regenerative braking, but falters under track demands.
Track braking generates extreme heat from repeated hard stops. Unplugged Performance (UP) High Performance Brake Pads, made with Performance Friction (Porsche Motorsport supplier), use high-friction semi-metallic compounds for better bite and fade resistance.
Stronger, Consistent Power: Aggressive materials reduce stopping distances during rapid successive stops, maintaining grip at 500–800°F without mushiness.
Superior Heat Management: Pads dissipate heat quickly, preventing fade, glazing, or pedal sink (vital for aggressive corner entry).
