Q: What’s involved in installing a coilover system on the Model S Plaid?
Installing coilovers on the Tesla Model S Plaid involves removing the factory air suspension system and replacing it with a fully mechanical adjustable system. The process requires disassembly of the suspension corners, installation of new coilover assemblies, and precise height, damping, and alignment calibration. Because the Plaid’s air suspension includes ride height sensors and software integration, the system must be properly bypassed and coded to prevent error messages. I had an issue of the camber being no longer able to be adjusted to specs. The friends of UP took care of me. Easy to swap as well. Went to a shop yo align it and car is up to specs again and straight as an arrow. Love it! Thank you UP!
